| Sweet little Emma was born at home on
5/31/01 at 7:24 in the morning. She made her arrival without
drugs or hasty intervention and as a result, she was wide-eyed and
looking all around the room before being fully born.
Emma had us all fooled - we all thought she was
going to be a boy (our gut feeling), but lucky for us, we planned for
such an emergency and had little girl clothes on hand.
Without going on endlessly, all I can say is I have
a whole new level of respect for my amazingly incredible wife Carrie -
I have never seen so much determination, strength, power and love
present in one person at one time! This event is by far the most
wonderful event of my life and I'm proud to admit, I cried like a
little school-girl when I saw sweet little Emma's face for the first
time.

Emma getting her atlas adjusted. Her first adjustment was
within hours of entering this world. Emma was sucking her fingers as she
was being born - this made it difficult for her head/neck since her arm/elbow
took up so much space in the birth canal. After being born, Emma couldn't
turn her head to the right...after receiving a specific chiropractic adjustment
to her atlas (bone at the base of the skull), she was able to turn her
head!
Imagine the number of children born with the
exact same problem! How many of them had the opportunity to get adjusted
from birth on? With restricted rotation, it would have made breastfeeding
on one particular breast difficult, if not impossible.
Plain and simple...all
children need to be checked for the detrimental effects of vertebral
subluxation.
After all, as the twig is bent, so grows the
tree!
