Symptoms are nothing more than warning lights on the
dashboard of your body (so to speak).
Unfortunately, symptoms are usually the last thing to show up and the
first thing to go away.
Did you know that approximately 80% of the cancers known to
man occur without any symptoms until the end stages? Or, did you know that for 50% of heart attack sufferers, the
first symptom is death?
Many view the symptom as the problem and try their best to
treat or eliminate it. This most
commonly occurs by taking drugs/medication to reduce the symptoms, i.e. taking
aspirin to reduce a headache.
Are headaches a result of too little aspirin circulating in
the blood stream? Are stomachaches the
cause of too little antacid? Of course
not when looked at in this light, it all seems a little ridiculous!
Imagine your house on fire and the smoke detector goes
off. Would you aim the fire
extinguisher at the smoke alarm because its making an annoying screech, or
would you aim the extinguisher at the flames?
For those of you not picking up on the analogy, treating and
covering up symptoms with drugs/medication is just like aiming the extinguisher
at the alarm. The symptom isnt the
problem, its only announcing the presence of something to be concerned with.
Dont treat the symptom, find the cause
or better yet,
prevent the cause.
